EXPORTING back

You may export any or all information (up to 423 Database Fields) from plans found in your Search. This information can then be imported into your contact management, word-processing, spreadsheet or other software.

To begin exporting, press the Export icon at the bottom of the screen. On the right, indicate from which Records (plans) you wish to export information. You cannot export more than 1,000 records at a time.

Next, select your desired Export Format. You may choose to export the fields contained in any of the List Formats or Detail Formats displayed on the List Screens or Detail Reports.

If you wish to export data fields not included on one of our List or Detail Formats, you can setup a Custom Export: (For help in determining which of the 423 fields to export, refer to the Table of Database Fields.) Click on Custom Export. Click Deselect All, check the Export Fields you wish, then click OK.

Now click the Start Export button. For File Download choose to Open the export from its current location (which will automatically import to Excel) or to Save the file to disk. Then, click OK.

If you choose to Save the file to disk, then a Save As dialogue box will open. From the Save in field, indicate the Drive and Folder to which the data should be transferred (e.g. select 3½ Floppy A: drive to save to a diskette.) Name the file in the File name field. The default extension is .csv (the extension used by Microsoft products for comma-separated values.) Click Save. The data fields you selected, for the plans you selected, will be transferred to the drive, folder and file you designated.

Please note: the data will be exported in a comma delimited (text) format. This format is acceptable to virtually any Windows database management or word-processing application. For help in importing, consult the User Guide or technical support provided by the vendor from whom you received the software into which the information is to be imported.
